BETTER BODY BALANCE Better Body Balance for Seniors is a specialized fitness class designed to enhance the physical and mental well-being of older adults by focusing on improving their balance, stability, and overall body strength. This class is tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of seniors, helping them maintain an active and independent lifestyle. Each session starts with a gentle warm-up, including light stretching and breathing exercises to prepare the body and mind. Some balance drills and specific exercises will be offered to challenge and improve balance. Light weights, or bodyweight exercises will be used to build strength in the legs, core, and upper body. Stretching routines are incorporated to maintain or improve flexibility, aiding in mobility and preventing muscle stiffness. The class focuses on movements that mimic everyday activities, such as bending, reaching, and squatting, to enhance functional fitness. Silver Pride
PRIDE COMES TO TOSH COLLINS The South Buffalo Community Association is proud to partner with the Pride Center of Western New York to bring a great new monthly event to the Tosh Collins Center. The Silver Pride Project The Silver Pride Project is a Pride Center initiative that’s all about creating better conversations and improved social engagement with our older members of the LGBTQ+ community. By understanding people’s experiences we can facilitate greater social connectivity, improve social inclusion and evolve services to meet the needs of our LGBTQ+ elders. LGBTQ+ Seniors Coffee Hour Also known as the Silver Pride Coffee Hour, is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ seniors to come together and enjoy a morning of refreshments and conversation. Tosh Collins will begin hosting this monthly event on Friday June 10th from 10am-Noon and will meet the 2nd Friday of every month.

MUSIC & ART TRIP For our April field trip, we will be returning to the Burchfield Penney Art Center on the Buffalo State University Campus. For our fourth year in a row, we will be treated to vocal performances by the Buff State singer students with a music dialogue between the students and the seniors. After the performance, we will have a brief tour of the art exhibits at the Burchfield Penney. The schedule for the Wed April 30th trip is as follows:

Looking for a quieter practice? This class is for you. you will be guided through some gentle, chair based movement focused on connecting the breath and the body. This will be followed by a short guided relaxation and Jessie will finish the class by guiding you through a themed meditation. This practice can help ease anxiety and stress. BETTER BODY BALANCE
Better Body Balance for Seniors is a specialized fitness class designed to enhance the physical and mental well-being of older adults by focusing on improving their balance, stability, and overall body strength. This class is tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of seniors, helping them maintain an active and independent lifestyle.
Each session starts with a gentle warm-up, including light stretching and breathing exercises to prepare the body and mind. Some balance drills and specific exercises will be offered to challenge and improve balance. Light weights, or bodyweight exercises will be used to build strength in the legs, core, and upper body. Stretching routines are incorporated to maintain or improve flexibility, aiding in mobility and preventing muscle stiffness.
The class focuses on movements that mimic everyday activities, such as bending, reaching, and squatting, to enhance functional fitness. Each session concludes with a cool-down segment to gradually lower heart rate and prevent muscle soreness.

The Silver Pride Project
The Silver Pride Project is a Pride Center initiative that’s all about creating better conversations and improved social engagement with our older members of the LGBTQ+ community. By understanding people’s experiences we can facilitate greater social connectivity, improve social inclusion and evolve services to meet the needs of our LGBTQ+ elders.
LGBTQ+ Seniors Coffee Hour
Also known as the Silver Pride Coffee Hour, is an opportunity for LGBTQ+ seniors to come together and enjoy a morning of refreshments and conversation. Tosh Collins will begin hosting this monthly event on Friday June 10th from 10am-Noon and will meet the 2nd Friday of every month.

For those unfamiliar with the game, Nickels is similar to Rummy, with the twist of betting nickels. So bring in your nickel collection and come join us for another thrilling card games experience! BETTER BODY BALANCE
Better Body Balance for Seniors is a specialized fitness class designed to enhance the physical and mental well-being of older adults by focusing on improving their balance, stability, and overall body strength. This class is tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of seniors, helping them maintain an active and independent lifestyle.
Each session starts with a gentle warm-up, including light stretching and breathing exercises to prepare the body and mind. Some balance drills and specific exercises will be offered to challenge and improve balance. Light weights, or bodyweight exercises will be used to build strength in the legs, core, and upper body. Stretching routines are incorporated to maintain or improve flexibility, aiding in mobility and preventing muscle stiffness.
The class focuses on movements that mimic everyday activities, such as bending, reaching, and squatting, to enhance functional fitness. Each session concludes with a cool-down segment to gradually lower heart rate and prevent muscle soreness.

Burchfield Penney Art Center Trip

MUSIC & ART TRIP
For our April field trip, we will be returning to the Burchfield Penney Art Center on the Buffalo State University Campus. For our fourth year in a row, we will be treated to vocal performances by the Buff State singer students with a music dialogue between the students and the seniors. After the performance, we will have a brief tour of the art exhibits at the Burchfield Penney.
The schedule for the Wed April 30th trip is as follows:
11:30 am– Lunch at Tosh Collins
Noon– Board bus for Burchfield Penney
12:30 pm– Arrive at Burchfield Penney
1:00 pm– Performance by students
2:00 pm– Tour of art exhibits
2:30 pm– Board bus for Tosh Collins
3:00 pm– Arrive back at Tosh Collins
The cost is $15 for members, $18 for non-members. First come, first serve with limited seats.
Lunch will be Baked Rigatoni w/Italian sausage & mozzarella, vegetables, chef salad, roll, banana. (additional $3.50)
